Confucius Institutes in the World
Under the leadership of Hanban, five Confucius Institutes have been established in partnership with Sun Yat-sen University. They are the Confucius Institute at Ateneo de Manila University, the Confucius Institute in Indianapolis, the Confucius Institute at Autonomous University of Yucatan, the Confucius Institute in Lyon, and the Confucius Institute at University of Cape Town.In the past five years, Sun Yat-sen University sent out 42 teachers and students to work as directors, teachers or volunteering teachers in the Confucius Institutes. The five Confucius Institutes offer Chinese languange courses to the local public, and have achieved exciting development since their establishment. In 2010, about 1500 students enrolled into these five Confucius Institutes.
